My name's Kris and I have a kind of weird betting success story to
share with you today.

It's about how I went from being a frustrated losing punter to being a
betting expert that regularly gets invited to speak at seminars, in
just a few short months.

So how did I do it?

I wish I could say it was skill and dedication on my part. But in all
honesty it was down to pure dumb luck.

home in last place time and time again.

Maybe you've been a frustrated punter for the last twenty years, maybe
you're new to the game.

It doesn't matter.

Either way you hate that losing feeling and you want to turn it around.

You've tried the latest fad horse racing systems only to end up being
out of pocket twice over. Once with the money you had to waste buying
the systems in the first place and secondly with all the money you lost
actually following them.

The end result is always the same. You're left with even less money
than you started with.

If those systems and tipsters actually worked you'd already have that
extra mountain of profits you dream of. But they don't and you don't.

Don't spend another minute blaming yourself.

full of heartless number crunchers.

Bookmakers don't see you as a person. They don't even see you as a
customer. To them you're a number with a pound sign attached to it.

down your account. I can't think of another industry that treats its
customers with such contempt can you?

Think about that for a second...

If you end up winning too much they'll shut down your account. You see
they're in the business of making obscene amounts of money and for that
they need mugs.

Not only that but the systems peddlers want you to stay poor as well.

If you actually started making money they would lose a customer. Fail
and it's cha-ching for them. Now they can sell you the next big thing.
And then the next big thing after that.

Horse racing systems, football betting systems, roulette systems the
list goes on and on.

If you're anything like I was you're probably wondering why you're not
making a great second income from betting when you're spending hours
reading form and a fortune on systems and tipster services.

It's all because pretty much everything you've heard till now is dead
wrong.

Your betting isn't as profitable as you'd like because the information
you've been relying on is...well...bad information.

Some, like the system peddlers, blatantly lie to you.

Others like your friends just repeat the lies they believe to be true.

And the horse racing journalists and presenters just seem to deliver
cliché after cliché.

Fraud or ignorance. Either way years of misinformation is largely the
real reason why you're not continually collecting winnings.

So let me set you straight.

Now a little warning this may contradict some things you thought you
knew about betting on the horses.

So prepare yourself.

A horse's "form" is simply a record of its recent performances.
Basically has the horse been running well lately? Whilst it is
obviously an important factor in the race outcome, it is certainly not
the be all and end all.
The simple fact is the majority of punters place too much emphasis on
recent form. And the bookies know this.
In fact anything from 80-90% of a bookies price is going to be based on
recent form. This is no coincidence.
Further to this media pundits and newspapers tipsters are obsessed with
form. You'll often see a so called expert on TV going on about a horse
that has great form. (In fact TV experts bleat on about form is
practically every sport).
As form is continually rammed down punters throats it's no surprise it
sways their betting opinion.
All this means is that if a horse is running well it will be massively
overbet by the public and there will often be no value in backing it.
Let me demonstrate this to you using a statistical example.
If you had backed every favourite at Starting Price since 2003 you
would have had a strike rate of 33.2% and each Ł1 bet would have
returned you 93.2p.
That is to say you would have lost 6.8p for every Ł1 you bet.
However if you had backed every favourite that won last time out at
Starting Price during the same period you're strike would have risen
to 34.6% but each Ł1 bet would now have returned you 91.9p.
That is to say you would now have lost 8.1p for every Ł1 you bet.
The simple reason for this difference is the general betting public
over rating the importance of the horse's last race and betting
accordingly.

This is another classic mistake that punters make. It's such an easy
thing to do and it's where I started out too.
You've already bought the paper to check out the racing so you might as
well back their selections...after all they must be an expert as
they're writing for a national paper, right?
Wrong.
Not only do I have severe reservations about the expertise of these
journalists they have so many people who follow their tips so there's
no value in them.
Historically if you'd backed every selection picked by the popular
Templegate (one of the most respected paper tipsters) from the Sun you
would lose around 11p for every Ł1 staked.
So if you backed each of his selections for just Ł1 over the course of
the year you could expect to lose over Ł1000. Now not many people bet
only Ł1 per bet.
A much more likely figure is Ł10 in which case the losses would amount
to a somewhat unnerving Ł10,000 a year. Hardly an insignificant amount
from following a so-called expert.

This is another easy trap to fall into. It seems obvious to think if a
top jockey is riding a horse then that horse has got more chance of
winning. This is true to an extent but you have to be careful.
For example AP McCoy is rightly considered the best National Hunt
jockey ever.
And when I was starting out I would blindly back a horse he was riding
to win if it was near the front of the betting market. And if he was on
an outsider I would have an each way on him.
Needless to say this strategy didn't reap any long term winnings. The
problem is too many punters think like I did and McCoy's rides are
often criminally under-priced.
To show the extent of this let's take a look at some statistics...
Over the past 5 jumps seasons he has ridden 672 winners from 3056
rides, an outstanding strike rate of 22%.
However if you had backed each of his rides you would have lost 461.96
points in that five years. Or to put it another way Ł46,196 to Ł10
stakes.
The top trainers don't fair much better either if you blindly follow
them.
For example Jonjo O'Neill is considered one of the very top trainers
for National Hunt horses. And I would blindly back his horses as well,
as I figured they had a very good chance of winning or at least
placing.
But his figures are even worse than McCoy's.
Over the past 5 jumps seasons he has trained 404 winners from 2839
rides, a strike rate of 14.23%.
If you had backed each of his rides you would have lost 643.04 points
in that five years. Or to put it another way Ł64,304 to Ł10 stakes.
After realising that blindly following the best jockeys and best
trainers didn't constitute a winning strategy I thought I had cracked
it when I decided to begin backing horses ridden by AP McCoy and
trained by Jonjo O'Neill.
But alas this strategy was doomed to failure as well.
Over the past 5 jumps seasons this combination has seen 276 winners
from 1376 rides, an excellent strike rate of 20%.
But if you had backed each of these rides you would have lost 159.58
points in that five years. Or to put it another way Ł15,958 to Ł10
stakes.
Sure you would have lost less by combining the jockey and the trainer
but it is still a long way away from a winning strategy.

Before the advent of the betting exchanges you didn't really have much
choice with this so I can't blame you.
All you could do was shop around the different bookmakers trying to
find the best price.
However if you're still using a regular bookmaker to place your bets
then I'm afraid you are throwing money away.
The betting exchanges have massively benefited punters when it comes to
backing horses.
On average, prices on Betfair, the biggest betting exchange, are 17%
higher than regular bookies. And this can mean a difference of a profit
or a loss over the course of a year.
Let's look at some statistics...
If you had backed every horse on Betfair over the past 7 years your
turnover would have been 100.7%. Take off commission and you would have
pretty much broken even or made a couple of a percent loss.
However over the same period if you backed every horse at industry SP
your turnover would have been just 73.7%.
That would have represented a loss of 16.3% on every bet you had
placed.
I can't stress this point enough. Place all your bets using an online
betting exchange if you really want your betting to start paying you.
I never bet with a traditional bookmaker any more unless I'm at the
track and having a bit of fun.

I used to make all those mistakes at one time or another.

And at times it can seem impossible to keep one step ahead of the
bookmaker and use horse racing betting to put money in your back
pocket.

And I'm going to reveal how you can do it...

without having to spend countless hours ploughing through
every racing pull-out in every newspaper
without having to crunch your way through mind numbing stats
without having to get to grips with complicated software
without resorting to buying horse racing systems week after

First you're probably wondering who the hell I am so let me tell you a
bit about myself.

I'm no scientist. I don't have a phd. I didn't crack the code by
spending years studying statistics.

I used to be a temp worker. I'd work in factories and warehouses,
manning production lines, replacing stock even sweeping the floor.
Exciting stuff!

But since discovering the underground betting secrets I've make it my
life's mission to help others do the same.

I'm now an advocate of sorts taking on the status quo until every last
victim of poor betting advice gets that final justice.

My journey was probably something similar to yours. I got interested in
betting on the horses when I was in my early twenties.

I went to the track one day with some friends and got caught up in the
excitement.

Soon I was reading the horse racing pages in the newspaper every day
and placing a few bets here and there.

At first I pretty much stuck with the newspapers' recommendations. A
recipe for nothing but losses as you've learnt.

But as I got more into it I found myself spending more time (and more
money) on my new found hobby.

I quickly realised that the free tips in the newspapers weren't getting
me anywhere and so I decided if I wanted to get good tips I would have
to pay for them.

I got pulled in by their clever sales copy promising hundreds of pounds
of profit a week and I thought I saw a way to end my boring day job.

I'm sure you can relate.

All that bad advice cost me plenty. I don't mind admitting that I
wasted thousands on premium rate phone services and lumping huge
amounts of money on short priced favourites that ended up in last
place.

When I realised expensive tipping lines weren't going to work I headed
to the internet.

I bought system after system but still got nowhere.

They all seemed to contain the same rehashed information and were
clearly written by people who had never placed a bet in their life.

I shudder to think of how much I have wasted over the years. I know
it's in the four figures. Sometimes I would go on a winning run that
lasted several days, only to see those profits wiped out by losing runs
that lasted weeks.

It felt like a terrifying roller coaster ride.

Now I've never admitted this to anyone before but I felt so embarrassed
by it all. I would constantly lie to my better half about how much I
was losing.

In the end I was actually on the brink of giving up completely.

Yeah it's a frightening thought just deciding not to even try any more.

I was just a thought or two away from ending up just like that.

But something happened that just changed everything. A seemingly tiny
moment in time that ultimately saved my betting career.

I would like to say it was down to me. That through hours of study I
slowly pieced together the secrets to making money from the horses.

But I can't. You see it was down to plain old luck.

I used to get my papers from the local corner shop and over time I got
pretty friendly with the guy behind the counter and we would have a
chat every time I went in.

Nothing too serious, just idle chit-chat. He knew I liked the horses
and we would have a laugh and joke about how much I was going to win
(or more accurately lose) that day.

Then one day he casually told me about another customer of his.

Apparently this customer used to come in everyday, like clockwork at
six o' clock in the morning, and pick up a copy of the Racing Post.

After hearing this my brain went into overdrive.

Imagine the things I could learn from an odds compiler!

If someone like that couldn't help me get my betting on the right road
then I really had no hope.

I just had to sit down with this guy and pick apart his brain.

So I asked my friend behind the counter to mention me to the odds
compiler when he next came in and see if he would mind have a little
chat with me about horse racing.

I brought along my own copy of the Racing Post and he began to take me
through the basics of betting.

To anyone else it would have looked like the scribblings of a mad man.

But to him it was his bread and butter.

And I finally began to understand where I had been going wrong all
these years.

I'll repeat for you his number one piece of advice...

Laying is simply betting that a horse won't win its race. You're
essentially acting like a bookmaker and taking on another punter's bet.

So if you lay a horse and it loses the race your bets wins.
If you lay a horse and it wins the race your bet loses.

Lets run through a quick example so you understand this fully...

We lay a horse called My Sally at odds of 3.00 (2/1 in English odds)
for Ł10
If My Sally wins we have to pay out Ł20
If My Sally loses we win Ł10

Once you start thinking like a bookie you can start profiting like one
as well.

I had tried laying a few years previously, long before the odds
compiler gave me his strategy, and I thought it was the answer to my
prayers. I'm sure most punters do.

I thought to myself..

But the obvious trap to fall into (and pretty much the worst thing you
can do) is it to pick the rank outsider as your lay bet.

I mean how often do you see 100/1 shots romp home. Hardly ever.

And so when I first started laying I would lay horses 50/1 and above.
And guess what it worked!!

Well at first anyway. In fact I has 23 winning bets in a row.

But then things turned ugly as disaster struck.

I had layed a horse at 66/1 and it came in first.

Luckily I had only been betting with Ł2 stakes but the odds on Betfair
had been over 100/1 and I ended up paying out over Ł200. What's worse
my profits up till then had only been Ł43.70.

I quickly realised this was not going to be a profitable long term
strategy.

But I still had faith in laying and so I decided to give some laying
tipster services a try.

They didn't lay at the crazy prices I had been doing before but they
did regularly pick horses at 10/1. Which would be good for their strike
rate but when the inevitable losing bet came it would wipe out all my
previous profits and more.

But the odds compiler had a different approach...

He covered so much in our meeting that when it was finally over my head
was buzzing with excitement.

I couldn't wait to get back home and study the day's racing.

It felt like someone had lifted the fog...everything was suddenly
clear. I now knew how to study a racing card with laser like focus.
